LIFE FORTURE at ISDRS 2018: life cycle assessment and circular economy strategies
June 13–15, 2018
June 13–15, 2018
From June 13 to 15, 2018, the LIFE FORTURE project team participated in the 24th International Congress of the International Sustainable Development Research Society, held at the University of Messina.
The conference, entitled “Actions for a sustainable world: from theory to practice”, is one of the most important interdisciplinary events in the field of sustainability, bringing together researchers and practitioners working on sustainable development from different scientific and applied perspectives.
Within this context, Lucrezia Volpi, from the LIFE FORTURE project team, presented the speech “Life Cycle Assessment of ceramic tile manufacturing: strategies for circular economy”.
The presentation focused on the environmental assessment of ceramic tile production and on the identification of strategies to support circular economy in the ceramic sector. This topic is closely connected to one of the core objectives of LIFE FORTURE: using life cycle-based tools to understand impacts across the production chain and to support more sustainable product and process decisions.
The participation at ISDRS 2018 helped disseminate the project within an international sustainability research community, connecting the industrial case of ceramic manufacturing with broader discussions on circular economy, sustainable development and the transition from theory to practical implementation.
The congress was attended by Lucrezia Volpi and Anna Maria Ferrari.
The presentation slides are available in the Deliverables section of this website.
