On February 21, 2019, the LIFE FORTURE project team participated in the conference “Raw materials for ceramic tiles”, organised by the Italian Ceramic Society at the headquarters of Confindustria Ceramica in Sassuolo.
During the event, the team presented the speech “Experimental model for studying the sintering of a porcelain stoneware body”. The contribution focused on one of the technical aspects connected to the project’s eco-design activities: understanding how different raw material formulations influence the sintering process and the final properties of porcelain stoneware tiles.
This topic is particularly relevant for LIFE FORTURE, as the project investigates how sustainability can be integrated into product design without compromising industrial feasibility and ceramic performance. Studying the behaviour of ceramic bodies during sintering helps identify more sustainable material strategies, including the possible use of alternative raw material sources.
The conference also provided an opportunity to share the project’s technical progress with researchers, professionals and companies working on ceramic raw materials and production processes.
The conference was attended by Cristina Siligardi, Anna Maria Ferrari and Eva Magdalena Gualtieri.
The seminar slides are available in the Deliverables section of this website.
