On July 9 and 10, the LIFE FORTURE project team met in Madrid to discuss the development of the project, with a specific focus on social sustainability and social impact assessment tools.
The meeting addressed one of the most complex and innovative dimensions of the project: how to assess social sustainability in a manufacturing context and how to integrate it into a broader Life Cycle Sustainability Assessment framework.
The team discussed the identification of stakeholders, the selection of the most suitable tools for social sustainability assessment and the design of stakeholder engagement strategies. Particular attention was also given to the integration of Social Life Cycle Assessment within the circular economy framework, with the aim of connecting social indicators to industrial processes, value chains and sustainability-oriented decision-making.
Another important topic was the draft of the new S-LCA Guidelines. The team analysed the main themes covered by the document and discussed the methodological innovations introduced, considering how they could support the development of LIFE FORTURE’s social assessment approach.
The meetings were attended by Fernando E. García Muiña, Sonia Medina Salgado, Rocío González Sánchez, Thais González Torres, Irene Huertas Valdivia, Lydia Murillo, Anna Maria Ferrari and Lucrezia Volpi.
